UX UI Redesign + ideation

Front-end development

Overview

About the project

DTPHX.org has several design flaws that hinder users from being able to access information on downtown Phoenix quickly and effectively. FiGS researched the possibilities in which this could be improved upon by canvasing users and walking through the websites workflow, outlining various goals and target audience needs. To keep costs down for a non-profit organization, it is proposed that the "bare bones" of the website remain as it is: colorful, exciting and engaging; but suggested re-organization of the information and interactive widgets would reach the intended user audiences as needed.

Mapping out and redistributing flow

Taking what we know of the current pages and remapping them to fit under the correct subjects to allow users to navigate directly to the information they are seeking

DTPHX site mapping

Landing Page Redesigned

The concept consists of incorporating DTPHX's color logo and enhancing the feeling of excitement and culture downtown without losing the information to the visual design aspects

Re-evaluation of Neighborhood mapping with interactive information

Using the original map already established on DTPHX.org, but updating it to be more interactive by utilizing hover to include short descriptions and cleaning up the buttons to be more dynamic

Re-Evaluation of events page and quick click-throughs

Giving users the advantage of searching for events by name, date and category, as well as keeping them on the same page without the need to toggle back and forth. The popup also allows users to see where the venues are located, if there is parking nearby and other similar events they may be interested in viewing
